In Sweden, OrganoClick said it is launching, within its brand OrganoTex, a newly developed and eco-labeled textile waterproofing.
The firm noted that the products are biobased, biodegradable and eco-labeled and completely free of PFAS, fossil plastics, and synthetic waxes.
The technology is based on combining the natural fatty acids of plants and the surface structure of leaves with the Nobel Prize-winning chemistry organocatalysis, the firm said.
“After more than four years of research and development work, we can finally present this breakthrough in textile impregnation. A product that both combines high performance and at the same time is biobased, plastic-free and biodegradable and, of course, PFAS-free. This innovation is fully in line with OrganoClick’s overall mission to accelerate the phasing out of plastics and fossil chemicals towards our overall vision of a nature free of plastics and toxic chemicals,” said Mårten Hellberg, CEO OrganoClick
