Protecting the Planet the Other 364 Days of the Year

As the longest-standing solar company in the U.S., it’s probably no surprise that at SunPower, we make a big deal out of Earth Day each year. And while this particular day is central to our company’s commitment to sustainability, we believe that making eco-friendly choices 365 days of the year is the best way to secure a brighter future. That’s why this year we’re making it a point to focus on the other 364 days.

What exactly does that look like? For one thing, we’re initiating weekly challenges throughout the month of April that will encourage you to do more for the planet. You can find those on our social media channels each Monday including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. But we’re not planning to stop there. That’s why you’ll also see monthly challenges posted throughout the year to help you find eco-friendly habits to work into your lifestyle.

You’ll also see how we’re embracing sustainability as a company when we release our latest Environmental, Social and Governance report in the coming weeks. It will dive into SunPower’s overall impact on the planet and share a look behind the scenes at how we plan to continue improving our internal processes.

Last, on LinkedIn we’ll be highlighting employee stories that showcase the heart behind SunPower and how our team members are actively changing the way our world is powered even after they clock out.

But the scope of sustainability goes beyond just us. You also have a unique role to play as we step into Earth Month. One of the easiest and most economical ways to get involved is by adopting a new clean energy solution, whether it be with solar panels, solar battery storage or even an EV charger. The Inflation Reduction Act has made the transition to better, cleaner energy more affordable than ever before and you can’t deny the benefit of reducing your carbon footprint at the same time.

If you’re already set with renewable energy, telling your family and friends about it can make a big impact as well. Studies have shown that solar energy is contagious. When one neighbor gets a solar system, another neighbor is more likely to follow suit. With additional incentives like SunPower’s referral program, it also makes sense to pass along the good news.

So, what are you waiting for? Start your journey towards a more sustainable future by requesting a custom quote, sharing your solar story on one of your favorite review sites or trying out our referral program. From all of us at SunPower, Happy Earth Days!
